The story is like this: The comic star got the producers to change the ending because every film he has made that includes a wedding had been a box office success.

Now the bumbling investigator will marry EMILY MORTIMER’S character, Nicole.

“I said, ‘I have to tell you that every movie I've done that ends in a wedding or holding a baby has been a hit,’” he revealed.

“I do believe we've taken the Pink Panther somewhere else and, in a sense, made it our own.”

And Steve, who is the fourth actor to play Clouseau on screen, wants to continue the theme in Pink Panther 3.

“It would obviously open with Clouseau's honeymoon - him taking Nicole across the threshold and she's wearing arm pads and a helmet,” he added.
