The mother of six and partner of actor Brad Pitt is tipped for an Oscar in this year's film 'Changeling'. But she came in for criticism after her gun-totting image in 'Wanted'.
Poster of 'Wanted' featuring Angelina Jolie was banned in BritainThe advertising watchdog in Britain upheld complaints about posters advertising the film "Wanted" starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Terence Stamp and Thomas Kretschmann, saying they glamorised violence and gun crime.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said it had received 17 complaints about the posters."We considered that because the ads featured a glamorous actress, action poses, several images of, or related to guns and aspirational text, they could be seen to glamorise the use of guns and violence," it said in a statement.
The Oscar winner Julia Roberts, 41, claimed the No 2 earnings spot after a long absence from the screen, making more than $15m for 'Duplicity'.
Hollywood's leading men are also earning less, with the exception of Will Smith who is making up to $25m a film.
Johnny Depp and Jolie's partner Brad Pitt and are both able to make up to $20m (£13.6m) for a starring role.
